Looking for an answer to a question?

Here are the most frequently asked questions about our sewing subscription box.


Q: How long does the Dolly Pattern Sewing Subscription last?

A: As long as you want it to!  There is no minimum term once you sign up.  However, to get the best out of the dolly club, we suggest a commitment of 3 months to give it a proper go.


Q: How do i cancel my subscription?

A: If you pay via PayPal, only you can cancel your recurring payments.  Log in to your PayPal account and cancel them and we will be automatically notified.

If you pay via credit or debit card, you can perform account maintenance through your shop account.  Simply log in and make the changes you want.

If you cancel future payments and have an outstanding subscription box order, this will be shipped.  No future payments will be taken.


Q: How long after payment does shipping take?

A: For your first order, we aim to dispatch your first box and free dolly making gift within 5 to 7 days. All boxes are made to order.  First orders are shipped via MyHermes and are fully tracked.  You will be emailed the tracking details for your shipment when it leaves us.

Monthly subscription boxes are dispatched throughout the month a few days after your monthly payment has been made.


Q: What ages is the finished dolly suitable for?

A:  Dolly is suitable from birth.  In order to be able to say this, we have had Dolly extensively professionally tested and when made, following our explicit instructions, qualifies for a CE mark for soft toys.  All soft toys MUST be CE marked as suitable from birth.

NB if you deviate from the materials or instructions and methods supplied, your dolly is unlikely to be safe for a child as the end user.


Q: Is there a choice of colour of dolly when I join?

A:  Sure is! You can choose any of our colours of dollys when you join, simply email us which dolly you would prefer, and, subject to availability we will accommodate your request happily.

 

Q: What date will my monthly payment be taken?

A: On the day that you signed up, monthly.  Eg, if you joined on the 4th of the month, your recurring payment date will be the 4th of every month.


Q: Can I subscribe via PayPal?

A: You can pay for your subscription via PayPal, simply click the button for 'paypal' on the dolly club information page at https://www.dollypattern.com/pages/dolly-costume-club


Q: How do I update my subscription details?

A: If you pay via PayPal, only you can change your account details yourself.  Log in to your PayPal account and make any changes you like.

If you pay via credit or debit card, you can perform account maintenance through your shop account.  Simply log in and make the changes you want.


Q: What sequence do the costume kits come in?

A: The sequence is subject to change depending on available materials and is slightly flexible.  Currently, we aim for the following sequence, substituting the running order where necessary.

  1. Month 1: Ballgown Glitz and FREE Dolly Making Kit
  2. Month 2: French Chic
  3. Month 3: Dolly Artist
  4. Month 4: Bunny
  5. Month 5: Party Dress and Bolero
  6. Month 6: Woodland Fairy
  7. Month 7: PJs and Dressing Gown
  8. Month 8: Cowgirl
  9. Month 9: Nightgown and nightcap
  10. Month 10: Linen shirt dress and blouse
  11. Month 11: School Uniform
  12. Plus, Seasonal Box at Christmas Time - This box moves in the sequence depending when Christmas falls!

Q: Does everyone get the same kit each month?

A: Nope, you start on box 1 and move forward when you join.


Q: Can I change my payment date?

A: Yes, please contact us to change your payment date if you subscribe with your credit card, or, log in to your paypal account and make the change there if you subscribe through paypal.


Q: Is Dolly CE Marked/Safe for children?

A:  Dolly is suitable from birth.  In order to be able to say this, we have had Dolly extensively professionally tested and when made, following our explicit instructions, qualifies for a CE mark for soft toys.  All soft toys MUST be CE marked as suitable from birth, by law.

We give very thorough, step by step video instruction to enable you to make a beautiful and safe Dolly.


Q: What happens if I have already bought one of the kits from the shop that is included in the subscription?

A: We monitor closely who has had which items so if we see you've previously bought a kit or pattern form the shop that is also included as a subscription box, we will substitute it with something new for you.
